The real pleasure was viewing Disk Two with all the extra information about the "Alien" movie production. Fascinating!

A raw, cutting room floor feel in typical Ridley Scott style. This is one of the first and best alien creature films that hides the fact that there's a tall, lanky, gangly human inside that suit. Never getting a full shot of the creature keeps it surreal and completely Creepy!

Birdbrained humans vs giant insect. Tedious. (The title is misconceived. The action occurs in outer space, so the monster is NOT an "alien", an intruder on earth.)

I have a soft spot for this movie. It was one of the first horror movies to actually scare me as a kid and Ripley was the role model I had desperately wanted. Great effects, awesome pacing, lots of scares but not so many that it negatively effects the intensity. Awesome movie for anyone who likes horror, monsters, or aliens.

Scared the willies out of me the first time I saw it years ago.

A decent take on an old sci fi theme but too predictable at times. Still, a great horror thriller movie.

The ground breaking classic !,.. and should be on evey list for 10 Best Sci-fi Films. ...I'd had no preview of it, and saw it for the first time from the balcony in a huge deserted deeply darkened theater that was like being suspended in outter space itself. And then the male 'hero' got killed !...whaaa ?!! (Some don't seem to realize how much this movie changed everything that came afterwards.) P.S. Kev's PICkS : For an intresting perspective, compare this heroine with the female lead in "The Creature From the Black Lagoon".

One of the best films I have seen in this year. It was entertaining and interesting. Great performances a must see for all. Truly a really great movie worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. Well worth the price of admission to any theater.

In space no one can hear you fart! A classic! [second only to the sequel, Aliens]

The crew of a commercial spaceship is awaken by an SOS from a distant planet. A crew member goes to investigate, and finds thousands of alien eggs. One of the parasites inside attacks him as he inspects it. They take back off for earth and the parasite dies, but what they don't realize is that an alien is growing in the host, and when it's ready to come out, no one on board is safe.

(There is a lot more to this story, but that's the general plot)

I saw this movie way back in the day and always wanted to see the director’s cut of this movie. Well I have to say this movie really stands up well. No cheesy music or special effects. Just a well written and acted movie. No idea why they would cut out some of the scenes for the theatrical version. My only beef is that at times it can be hard to hear the actors, low talking\mumbling. If you liked it way back in the day you will like this again, if you haven’t seen this watch it!!!
