Jaws is a complete movie with a great cast, well written screenplay and music that scares you just be the sound of it. The slogan I'm never going to go near the water again has been real for me ever since seeing Jaws. It takes place at Martha Vineyard, which I didn't think was shark territory. Warmer waters of the ocean have brought these sharks in closer. Just look at the picture from the DVD cover. Are you up for this kind of thrilling adventure?

its not a scary movie but when your done watching it go swimming in echo dale

Impressive filmmaking despite the film being made for a 1975 release date.

A true classic, Jaws launched the blockbuster era, and after all this time, still feels fresh. A shark lingering off an East Coast town dependent on tourist dollars begins to cause trouble by feeding on the locals and the not so locals. Spielberg knows how to push all the right buttons, and when to push them, and the story, adapted from the novel, still has that way of leaving the viewer tense. The three leads are perfectly cast: Roy Scheider as the outsider police chief, scared of the water, Richard Dreyfuss as the scientist, alarmed by the shark and the response of the town's officials to the threat, and Robert Shaw as the enigmatic fisherman, a callous man who has depth to him. Add in the presence of a shark who's often unseen- thanks to the difficulties of filming, it even makes the story work better that way- and one of John Williams' best scores, which still gets under the skin today, and you've got the ingredients for a rousing film. Be sure to watch the extensive special features documentary.

The secret of this film is not the shark perse, but the idea of the shark, created and perpetuated by the relatively simple theme music, and the visual elements that contribute to the idea of the shark's presence. The fact that the mechanical shark did not work very often actually made the film better because of the indirect shark references. The special features are worth a look if only to see the recounting of Spielberg's reaction to the music score. Two notes on the piano? Really? That's all it took to change the ocean for millions of people.

Smile you son of a-. I've seen this movie many times before, but you haven't truly seen it until you've seen it on this Blu-ray remaster, the video quality is absolutely phenomenal. If you have a high definition television, prepare for an amazing movie experience. As for the movie itself, an absolute classic masterpiece and really set the world wide precedence for humans fear of sharks.

Dreyfuss as Hooper: "What we are dealing with here is a...a perfect engine, an eating machine, it's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim...& eat...& make little sharks & that's all!"

Hooper:I actually pay for most of this by myself. Brody: You rich? Hooper: Yeah.

I just heard that there was a girl killed her last week. And yet you let people go SWIMMING anyway! My boy is DEAD. I just wanted YOU....to know that."

"And so--- 1100 men went in to the water. 316 came out. The sharks took the rest. June the 29th, 1945. But we delivered the Bomb."
